Just back in from almost three weeks on site at Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival 2014. Amazing.

This Saturday, tomorrow we are in two places.  Pine Bush Farmer's Market 9-2 with Tony Nelson on stand up bass in the morning and at Pete Seeger Remembered in Milford, PA at 7:30 with RJ Storm and Old School, Jacob and David Bernz, Dan Einbender, Rick and Donna Nestler and some other Hudson River Sloop Singers. fundraiser for the Pete Seeger Foundation.

Friday July 4th we are the music on the sloop Clearwater during the fireworks 7-10pm in NY Harbor.  It is a special public sail $100 a person. For more info and tickets: http://www.clearwater.org/events/july-4th-sail-ny-harbor/

5 Days of free music, dance, film, boat rides, photo exhibit NYC and the Hudson Valley to honor Pete and Toshi Seeger July 17-21.
Our Seeger Fest participation starts at the Bardovon on Friday evening July 18th for the memorial. Saturday we will take a turn each to emcee the  song circle at Beacon Sloop Club 5-8pm potluck, 2 Red Flynn Dr., Beacon, NY. Sunday we are part of Hudson River Sloop Singers at Lincoln Center Out of Doors 4pm.

We are working on a songbook and a music video of our Lake Worth song. We are always ready for an informal home based song circle so give us a call when it’s happening and we’ll try to come. As we add dates and get details we’ll send another newsletter. Looking forward to seeing you.

2013 summer in NY

Gosh, it's busy moving around. So busy I forgot to post this here in May when I wrote it up. I've added a slide show of our time in Croton Point Park as festival volunteer site crew and performers.

Saturday May 17 Opening Day PINE BUSH FARMER’S MARKET, 9-2 Vinnie C instrumental electric and Mel and Vinnie duo with Tony Nelson (stand up bass).  Music starts around 9:30.  In the municipal parking lot behind the Crawford Cultural Center at the corner of New and Main Street.  Main Street is Route 52.  

Sunday June 9 Beacon Sloop Club Strawberry Festival noon – 5pm.  Mel and Vinnie MC the children’s stage and perform – probably the opening set.  Free sails on the Woody Guthrie.

June 15 and 16   Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, in Westchester County.  Mel and Vinnie are playing at Circle of Song Sunday morning 11:40 – 12:20 with site crew friends.  Later on Sunday we’ll make an appearance at the Hudson River Sloop Singer Reunion at Circle of Song 6:00 – 6:40.   Festival website  We are in the park from June 2 – 20 more or less working with site crew. Hear Pete Seeger sing them off from Newburgh then come over to Beacon and cheer in the swimmers.  We entertain on the Beacon shore. One set instrumental, one set river songs. Wednesday February 6 We’re going back to The Shed right here in Lake Worth to put down some more tracks. Not putting a project together, just recording more original, parodies and some of our “signature” cover tunes. Ric Pattison has a good vibe going there.

If you are in NY in June now is the time to buy tickets for the 2013 Clearwater Festival which will be held June 15 & 16 at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, in Westchester County.  The festival is an annual fundraising event for Hudson River Sloop Clearwater.  The Early Bird Period for purchasing tickets ends on February 16. We’re preparing for the shows and studio time before we head back to the Hudson Valley in mid April. Expect to have some time in living rooms with friends jamming and sharing too. We try to make open mics on Tuesday and Thursday. There is so much music to hear and play in the area check in with Mel (845 399 4630) text/email/phone to confirm. Tuesday at http://www.southshorestavern.com runs 7-11. It’s both jam and set format, we could be anytime.  Thursday Ric Pattison’s open mic at http://livingroomboynton.com runs 7:30 – 11, we sign up for 15-minute sets that run more or less on time.

Tuesday December 18 we will not be at the South Shores Tavern open mic. We will be going over to The Blind Monk, 410 Evernia Street #107 - West Palm Beach to listen to Paul Allen Christopher. He plays 8 to 11pm. Come join us and support live music – the venue and the performer. You’re sure to enjoy yourself.
